Murray Skeete, B.Sc.CEng., is Vice President of Engineering and Regulation at WRB Energy and Director of Grenlec, with overall responsibility for the technical and regulatory aspects of WRB’s development projects.
Murray is a highly experienced professional engineer who has worked in the electric power and energy sector for more than 30 years. Having started his career in the wind energy research field, Murray went on to work in the power generation equipment supply business in the Caribbean. His primary experience has been in the operations and management of vertically-integrated electric utility companies in the Caribbean.
Over the last 20 years, Murray has led numerous multi-million-dollar projects covering all aspects of power generation, transmission and distribution on small island nations. His work includes contract management, project management, system planning, renewable energy development and integration, as well as management and regulatory consulting.
Murray is actively involved as a volunteer engineering mentor in the FIRST® program, encouraging young people to pursue careers in science, technology and engineering. Murray holds a BSc. degree in Engineering from University of Leicester, UK, and is a Chartered Engineer, a member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) and a member of IEEE, the world’s largest association for the advancement of technology.
